Abstract:
Debre Berhan Blanket Factory, one of the major producers of Blanket, Kuta, Polysters Bed
Cover, Mattress and Pillow, is among the oldest textile industry in Ethiopia which use imported
and locally produced inputs. The main purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting
supply chain management of the factory. This thesis paper makes an investigation on factor
affecting supply management (Supplier relationship, customer relationship, customer service
management ,order fulfillment ,demand management, manufacturing flow management, product
development and commercialization, return management ) the case Debrebrehan blanket
factory. Primary type of data was collected with the help of questionnaires and personal
interviews. This research is conduct on the supply chain management in DebreBrehan blanket
factory at Debre Brehan town. .The purpose of this study was to assess the case company’s
orientation towards managing its SC and how this impacts the customers‟ service and
suppliers‟ services.The general finding of this supply chain management was to make or give the
line of relationship between suppliers-factory-customer to provide products and services in
order to satisfy the suppliers and customers. The DBBF was follow the tradition blanket
production as the data collected from all the proposed or target of the study. This may cause for
the failure of his suppliers land customer satisfaction. So it is important to change the product
with the modern or market change.
