Abstract:
In today's competitive environment firms have been trying to have a competitive tool to achieve
their organizational performance. Thus, they are trying to take strategies that enable them to
achieve their performance. Supply chain strategy is one of the important components of an
organizational strategy to achieve organizational performance. However, there is a shortage of
empirical evidence to confirm this theory. Thus, the aim of this study was to examine the effects
of Supply chain management strategy on the performance of STEELY R.M.I PLC (Rolling Mill
and Melting Factory). To achieve this, a quantitative research approach with an explanatory
research design was followed. The target population was classified into six strata based on
departments in the firm. After classification of the target population into strata, Yamane’s
sample size determination formula was used to determine the exact sample size. Then, the sample
size was proportionally distributed to each department. A total of 250 qualified questionnaires
were distributed, and 192 valid questioners were used for analysis. Multiple linear regressions
by using SPSS version-23 was used to examine the effects of Supply chain management strategy
on organizational performance. The result showed that Supply chain management strategy has a
statistically significant effect on organizational performance in Steely R.M.I PLC. Therefore, the
managerial implication of the study for the Steely R.M.I PLC implies that Supply chain
management strategy is an effective way of enhancing organizational performance.
